Garden Gallery Studio/Joanna McFarland
An awesome contemporary art gallery right on Main Street in beautiful Wellington.
My work is non-objective. I like the intrigue of non-objective painting. I like the need to keep coming back to see more. I paint for a response. Positive or negative, that is up to the individual, but I want to stimulate something in the viewer. I want you to keep coming back to look, as I do, to take sneak peeks and realize something, suddenly, and say, “Oh!”
I paint listening to music. I respond mainly to trumpet, saxophone and guitar. I hear colour. That is how I develop my palette.
I hear noise, I paint it.
