Add a Piece of The County to Your Wedding

Planning a wedding in Prince Edward County? Or, does The County have a special spot in your heart? If you’d like to offer a piece of The County to your wedding guests, here’s a round-up of just a few of the local artisans, farmers and culinary artists who make products that could be a great wedding favour.

Coriander Girl arrangements include a hand written tag

Coriander Girl specializes in garden-style, locally-grown floral arrangements, weddings and workshops. As a wedding favour, dried posies make a perfect and pretty guest take-away. When displayed in a sweet little bottle or vase, they will be a reminder of your lovely wedding day for years to come.

Add a little sass to your ceremony with Cressy Mustard

Cressy Mustard is handcrafted, made in small batches along the shores of Waupoos in Prince Edward County. A jar of jelly or mustard is a delicious reminder of the flavours of the County – and a reminder to keep the relationship spicy!

Cured Spice Co.’s olive oil includes custom labeling.

Cured Spice Co. offers cold smoked, extra virgin Italian olive oil. The oil is cold smoked with apple and maple wood for 72 hours, giving the oil a buttery, earthy flavour with subtle hints of roasted mushrooms.

Signal you’re tying the knot with a porcelain napkin ring from Cylinder Studios.

Located in the historic House of Falconer in Picton, Cylinder Studio is a contemporary ceramics studio creating functional wares with emphasis on form, texture and subtlety. Couples who are tying the knot (get it?) can choose between a porcelain knot napkin ring or knot work cotton keychain with porcelain bead.

Edible Antiques seed packets are a way to play on “growing” your love.

Edible Antiques is a Prince Edward County-based seed company producing open pollinated seeds with a focus on heirloom and heritage varieties, packed in handmade, sustainable art packs. Find Edible Antiques seeds at Carson’s Garden + Market – they’re a perfect way for guests to take a piece of The County with them back home.

Create a buzz at your wedding with a Honey Pie Hives & Herbals set.

Give your wedding guests a gift full of handmade goodies from Honey Pie Hives and Herbals. Honey Pie Hives keeps bees and grows herbs on their farm in Prince Edward County. They are a small, farm-based business who combine beeswax and propolis with organic herbs to make natural products. All of their products are made by hand in the workshop or straw bale farmhouse. Each bag includes a 64g hex honey beeswax, beehive tea light, mini tea and mini soap.

Maple syrup from Kinsip adds even more sweetness to the day.

Kinsip House of Fine Spirits produces a distinctive and playful maple syrup by lovingly ageing Prince Edward County maple syrup from Nyman Farms in their own whisky barrels. The complex whisky and barrel notes of their aged maple syrup results in a decadent product that is excellent in cocktails, on ice cream, in cooking and, of course, on pancakes. A Maple Old Fashioned cocktail recipe makes a nice addition to inspire guests to the use this unique memento from your special day!

Add a little heat to your wedding with Mirepoix hot sauce.

Mirepoix Farm strives to help make culinary traditions spectacular. Proud to be a certified organic producer of vegetables and herbs, Mirepoix Farm creates small-batch sauces, condiments and dried herbs that can add a dash of warmth for your wedding guests.

Give your guests the calming effect of lavender.

Prince Edward County Lavender are growers, distillers and crafters of fine lavender products. Nestled in the heart of Hillier wine country in Prince Edward County, you will find many cultivars of lavender, offering myriad colours, scents and tastes. Or visit Millefleur, a newly opened lavender farm with active honeybees. Give your guests the gift of local lavender, ranging from soaps to sachets to salts.

These are just a few of the many talented local makers, producers, artists and more who can add a bit of The County to your big day. Happy shopping!
