York Street Laneway Reimagined!

On Friday September 29th, 2023 from 3-11 PM, local artists will activate the top of York Street at Main Street Picton to reveal its potential as car-free public space for all! Featuring live music and art-making, seating, and delicious food. FREE!

3-11 PM How would you reimagine this laneway space? There will be a Community chalkboard ‘Have Your Say’ – Drop by to write / draw your public space/ public art ideas on a giant chalkboard. Your ideas will be documented to present at a future time.

Cookery School Classes – with Chef David Correa at Waring House

Learn by Experience! The Waring House recreational cooking classes are suitable for all levels of cooking expertise. Expand your culinary repertoire, and learn new skills and chef techniques. These classes are perfect for groups of up to 10 guests!

Each class features a particular culinary subject, food type, region, ingredient, or theme. Many of our classes feature fresh, local ingredients — some were picked that day at farms just down the road from the cookery school, or from our Waring House garden.

Classes are offered on Thursday evenings at 5:30pm or Sunday mornings at 10:30am

Thursday, July 27th at 5:30 pm or Sunday, July 30th at 10:30 am – Campania, Italy – This region of Italy is famous for its Mediterranean cuisine. The cuisine is fresh with seasonal ingredients often seasoned with an abundance of olive oil and vegetables.

Thursday, August 3rd at 5:30 pm or Sunday, August 6th at 10:30 am – Bounty in the County III – Working with Prinzen’s local chicken – you will produce a dinner which is County from start to finish – including produce from our own gardens.

Thursday, August 10th at 5:30 pm or Sunday, August 13th at 10:30 am – N’Orlans Here We Come! – One of Chef Davis’s favourite destinations – New Orleans offers an endless variety of tasting experiences.

Thursday, August 17th at 5:30 pm – Vegan Cooking with Chef Chris Byrne – Expert vegan Chef Chris Byrne will guide you throw a foraged plant based meal that is guaranteed to be delicious!

Sunday, August 20th at 10:30 am – N’Orlans Here We Come! – Chef David Correa will explore a popular theme once again…

Ameliasburgh Fall Fair 2023

Get ready for a day out you won’t want to miss! Ameliasburgh Fall Fair returns September 23rd and it’s bigger and better than ever.

There’ll be live music from Canadian country music singer/songwriter Becky Elliott, plus performances from Astounding Heights Dance Academy, and Charlie Pianosi. Kids entertainers Daniel the Balloon Genie and Randy the Magicman will be at the Fair to keep the little ones occupied in between the Bike Rodeo, facepainting, and the – new for 2023 – Meet & Bleat Petting Zoo. While the kids are playing detective in the Scavenger Hunt, grownups can enjoy a stroll around our bustling Craft Show and check out the Fair’s Silent (and not-so-silent!) Auctions.

Are you a keen photographer? Is your child a budding artist? Or perhaps grandpa is a whizz in the kitchen and grandma grows the best tomatoes? Whatever talents your family has, there’s sure to be a competition for it in the Ameliasburgh Fall Fair. With 100s of opportunities to win a prize, why not give it a go? Sunday Bubble Brunch

Come enjoy our all you can eat pancake brunch.

Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted with a mimosa made with our 2021 Bubble.

We make our pancake batter from scratch using local Jubilee Forest Farm’s ground buckwheat made with Campbell’s Orchards apple sauce and grilled at the bar for a cozy, yummy setting.

For toppings enjoy Koopmans Maple Mountain maple syrup, Melt butter and top with oat yogurt, chopped walnuts and blueberry compote.

Tea and coffee included.

Bubble Brunch is held every Sunday from 11AM to 2 PM weekly, year round.
