Cyanotypes with Sara Keller
Join artist instructor Sara Keller for this workshop on making Cyanotypes! Cyanotype Printing is a beautiful photographic printing process that produces a unique Prussian blue print, also commonly called a sun-print. Engineers and Botanists used the process well into the 20th century to produce copies of drawings, referred to as blueprints or plant images.
A mildly photosensitive solution is applied to a receptive surface (such as paper) and allowed to dry in a dark place. Then exposed to sunlight and then washed in plain water the uncovered areas of the paper turn a rich deep blue. Each participant will have the opportunity to make at least 3-6 prints 9×12” each. No experience required, all materials are provided.
