Local is our lifestyle.
Prince Edward County has a rich history in agriculture. Being a significant industry contributor for over 200 years! “Farm Fresh” has never been closer than the dozens of County farm stands you might find while touring the island. Cross off all your grocery list items, plus pick up some lunch at any of our weekly Farmers’ Markets, where you can meet the growers and makers.
There are some simple ways to recognize and respect our hard-working farmers and their crops or livestock animals when visiting The County. We ask you do not litter or trespass (of course) stay at the farm-gate (keeping gates closed) and please only ‘pick your own’ when advertised. We also want to remind drivers to share the road and drive with extra care around farm equipment and agricultural vehicles. A little extra patience can go a long way to ensure everyone gets home safely.
We thank these stewards of our agricultural lands and look forward to another bountiful growing season.
